We travel toward the capital Skopje and enjoy the scenery. We stop for a short break at the mountain pass called Straza and then we visit Canyon Matka. It is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Macedonia, home to several medieval monasteries, with Matka Lake - oldest artificial lake in the country with ten caves.
Vrelo cave is considered to be one of the deepest underwater caves in Europe and in the world.
We arrive in Skopje. We stop by the old railway station to see the old clock witch reminds us of the earthquake in 1963. Then we visit Mother Teresa's Memorial House. We move on and walk through the main square Macedonia to see a lot of monuments and attractive fountains.
We are continuing to the restaurant to have a lunch. After lunch we pass Vardar river across the Stone Bridge. The next destination is the old part of Skopje, passing by the Holocaust Museum.
About one hour of free time can be used to enjoy in the ambiance of Skopje Old Shopping District, with a possibility to buy souvenirs. At about 17:00 the group departs for Ohrid. On our way back we are also going to take a short break. We return to the hotel after the program is finished.
